MEGHAN PEACOCK
Kids Coach
A former schoolteacher who found jiu jitsu in 2022, Meghan blends a born educator's patience with a competitor's edge. A four-time IBJJF Open gold medalist who trains alongside her own husband and kids, she lives the family-first culture Combate Academy was built on — and there's nothing she loves more than watching a nervous kid walk off the mats standing a little taller.

MEGHAN PEACOCK
Meghan started training jiu jitsu in 2022, looking for a way to handle the stress of graduate school. What began as an outlet quickly became a calling. As a former schoolteacher, she already knew how to meet people where they are, break hard things into small wins, and keep a room engaged — and she found that everything that made her love teaching translated straight onto the mats.
When she moved to Texas, Combate Academy hadn't opened its doors yet. She tried several gyms in the area first, but none of them felt right. The moment she stepped into Combate, that changed. She felt at home immediately — the family atmosphere, the quality of training, and the sense of community were exactly what she'd been searching for.
On the competition side, she's earned four gold medals at IBJJF Opens, bringing real, tested experience to every class she leads. But ask her about her favorite part of coaching and she won't mention podiums. It's watching kids build confidence — seeing a child who walked in unsure of themselves set a goal, chase it down, and accomplish it.
Jiu jitsu is a family affair for Megan. She trains alongside her husband and children, and that shared experience shapes how she coaches: with patience, encouragement, and a genuine belief that this art is for everyone, at every level. Whether she's working with your kids or rolling next to you, she brings the heart of a teacher and the discipline of a competitor to the Combate Academy mats.
